6 Cool Campgrounds in the South East

unnamed 1

There’s more to the South East region in the United States than amusement parks, warm beaches, and shopping malls. Here are six great camping parks to take your RV and drive down there with the whole family. Or to call these campgrounds home for a few days while you’re on the road.

1. Oak Mountain State Park, Alabama

Oak Mountain State Park is the largest state park in Alabama. It’s a perfect spot for hiking, and you can find long trails for biking too! Be sure to check The Red Trail, considered by the International Mountain Biking Association as an “Epic Ride.” You can also visit the Alabama Wildlife Center, where you can see how injured native birds are taken care of. A great spot for the entire family to enjoy.

2. Everglades National Park, Florida

Deep in the southern state of Florida, you will find the largest subtropical wilderness area in the Everglades National Park. It is home to endangered species, so be careful when you’re exploring there. You can drive down to its two campgrounds: Flamingo and Long Pine Key. They are perfectly equipped with all the necessary commodities to enjoy your stay.

3. Cloudland Canyon State Park, Georgia

If you’re looking for a place to go biking, horseback riding, hiking, or fishing, the Cloudland Canyon State Park in Georgia is the ideal place for all these activities. With its deep canyons, caves, waterfalls, and native wildlife, it’s a flawless park for outdoor activities. Who wouldn’t want to camp here for a few weeks?

4. Hanging Rock State Park, North Carolina

When it comes to options for outdoor activities, few places can beat the Hanging Rock State Park in North Carolina. You can enjoy its 20 miles of endless fun. Hike its trails to reach incredible views and waterfalls. This campground offers over 70 tent sites with picnic tables and grills for creating long-lasting family memories.

5. Devils Fork State Park, South Carolina

For a memorable holiday getaway, visit the unmatchable lakes at Devils Fork Skate Park in South Carolina. Spend your time walking around its hidden coves or relaxing in its white-sand beaches. It’s perfect for the whole family.

6. South Cumberland State Park, Tennessee

For a campsite with plenty of space and endless options for recreation activities, look no further than South Cumberland State Park in Tennessee. With over 25,000 acres of fun waiting to be discovered, take hiking trails, climb around its rocky areas or start fishing on its small lakes.

Nothing beats feeling the fresh air of natural parks after a hard week at work. So feel free to visit any of these lovely parks to reconnect with nature and enjoy yourself.
